Paula Román
Founder & President
After earning her medical degree in Spain, Paula Román moved to New York and began building a new life in film, performance, and storytelling. There, she founded Marcapasos Films and created her first original project, La Manzana, a pilot presentation that won the Best Performance Award at ITVFest in Los Angeles, opening new opportunities for her as both a creator and performer in Hollywood.
She later wrote and starred in Blackout, a short film shot in Manhattan that inspired the narrative podcast The Strange Case of Señorita Flores, produced in Hollywood with more than twenty voice actors and released internationally across audio platforms.
Paula recently completed Sequidivú, her first project filmed in Spain and her directorial debut, which she also wrote, produced, and starred in. The short film will soon begin its international festival run with Selected Films.
She is currently developing her first feature film — an adventure mystery centered on a group of preteens — along with several television projects between Los Angeles and Spain.
